So life has been all over the place with work and getting our flat ready for the arrival of our little baby in May (it’s so close, just 8 weeks now). We are currently staying in a one bedroom flat at the moment which meant that we had a lot of space to make for baby things. I have three bookcases at the moment and part of the compromise was that I had to reduce the amount of space that I was taking up with books (I love my books more than most things, but the baby is obviously more important!) So this meant that I had to condense down my bookcases and put some books away in the cupboard for now.
I thought that I would do a post on my bookcases before this happened because they won’t be looking too great by the end of this!
So, my first ever bookshelf tour! Continue reading “Bookshelf Tour”
There has been some radio silence on my part recently. I am alive and kicking, just struggling to find the motivation to do anything productive. I’ve been thinking about my blog a lot but can’t find the energy to start writing something. It’s a bit of a slump. I’ve even just been rereading the same books rather than delve into anything new. (As much as I love ACOTAR, I really need to find something else to read!)
It isn’t all miserable, far from it really. There are some exciting times ahead for my fiance and me- our dynamic duo is going to become a trio in May 2019. We are expecting our first baby (a lovely little girl) and we are so in love with a person we have yet to meet. A lot of exciting changes are coming about. 2018 is officially coming to a close and 2019 is about to begin. What a year it has been.
I don’t know about you guys but it’s been a pretty life-changing year for me. I got engaged in spring, found out I was pregnant in summer, lost my grandad in the fall and my lovely old pussycat got put to sleep in winter. It’s been an emotional year with both happy and sad circumstances falling on my family and I but here we are at the end of another year.
I thought I would do a bit of a wrap up of my Top 10 Books for 2018. It’s not something I’ve done before but I thought it would be nice to revisit all the great books I’ve read in the past year. This isn’t limited only to books that have come out in 2018. Continue reading “Top 10 Books for 2018”
Day 20 – Would You Consider Yourself an Optimist or Realist?
I think everyone is a little bit of an optimist in life, regardless of how they think. We all want to see the positive outcomes in things, no matter how big or small. And sometimes we are a little bit pessimistic. Continue reading “30 Day Writing Challenge – Day 20”
Day 19 – Your Favourite Bookstagrams
Rather self explanatory – Five favourite Bookstagrams, in no particular order. All beautiful. Take a look. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Day 18 – Describe Your First Love and First Kiss (Of Significance)
This could be… interesting. Good prompt and we could probably say a lot on the matter.
I’ve definitely taught myself not to look back in anger. It is my past and we live on regardless of it.
Let’s disregard silly things we do as kids when boys were yucky and I was more interested in rolling down hills and climbing trees.
I was 14 and I was in love. Continue reading “30 Day Writing Challenge – Day 18”
Day 17 – Your Favourite Place to Go
This is kind of a hard one for me because for the past few years, what with life and work and university, I haven’t really had nearly as much free time as I would have liked. Now that I’m driving and am in a different working environment I have a little bit more freedom but, as it turns out, that hasn’t really helped too much. I still don’t get out nearly as much as I’d like to, I’m always just too tired. I’m thinking that I will keep this prompt more local rather than choose someplace across the world (far and unreasonable). So, my favourite place to go is actually anywhere in the Scottish Highlands and sometimes the Islands.
