Day 26 – A Book Turned Movie and Completely Desecrated
I knew as soon as I saw this prompt what I was going to choose for this prompt.
Usually I enjoy adaptations. I mean, the book is usually still better but it’s aways nice to see your favourite works of fiction take flesh, so long as the creators actually follow the book.
The movie I had in mind, the book turned movie that was completely desecrated was City of Bones, first book in the Mortal Instruments series, by Cassandra Clare.

Are any of you a fan of the work of Guillermo del Toro? He’s the man behind a lot of brilliant cinematic work such as the Devil’s Backbone, Crimson Peak, the Shape of Water and the Hellboy movies. An amazing mind to say the least. However, he was also the writer and director of Pan’s Labyrinth which is by far one of my favourite stand-alone movies.
Pan’s Labyrinth is a dark fantasy/soft horror movie set several years after the Spanish Civil War and twists between reality and fantasy and focuses heavily on an overgrown Labyrinth, a faun creature and a young girl named Ofelia. Continue reading “Why I’m excited for July 2nd – Pan’s Labyrinth”
