Day 20 – Best Book You Read Last Year
I hardly remember what I had for dinner last night, let alone remember what I did last year but books? Now they’re something I remember.
I read a lot of great books last year, and some bad ones, but there are a few that stand out in my memory. However, I can only pick one for this prompt.
The best book I read last year was The Cruel Prince by Holly Black.

So we are finally in June which means that half of 2019 is already gone and before we know it it’s going to be 2020! What a year it has been so far!
The chaos of life has had me swamped and a new baby demanding my undivided attention means that I haven’t managed to read nearly as many books as I would have liked to but that doesn’t mean that I haven’t accomplished anything! I find myself now reading a lot more on my Kindle simply for the reason that it is very hard to hold a baby and turn the pages of books so at the moment my Kindle and I have become good friends again.

So I’m finally catching up with the rest of the world. I got fed up rereading the same books (even though I have loads of books in my TBR pile. I’m sure you can all relate…) and started The Grisha trilogy. Honestly, I was a little sceptical. I’m a part of a few pages on Facebook and there was so much hype around these books that was afraid to be disappointed if I started. But, the series was on sale on the Kindle store and I think I got the three books for around £7 so I can’t really complain. I started Shadow and Bone and I finished it by lunchtime the following day. I couldn’t put it down. I really, really enjoyed the first book. (I also just got these beautiful copies in my most recent book haul. I’m in love).
