Day 10 – Favourite Fantasy Character
These prompts are so hard because it’s so difficult to just choose one character.
Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse was one that I was a little sceptical to start but I got the Shadow and Bone trilogy on sale on my kindle and decided to fmgive it a shot. I’m still a little sceptic to start Six of Crows but at least I took the plunge.
I enjoyed Shadow and Bone a lot more than I expected to and from it fell in love with some of the characters.
My favourite fantasy character is The Darkling from the Shadow and Bone trilogy by Leigh Bardugo.

Day 7 – Favourite Book Couple
I love romance in books. I love heavy romance in books and don’t object if it’s heavily explicit. In fact, I’m often disappointed if there isn’t some kind of romance in the book that I’m reading. But, as usual, choosing just one couple was hard though I’m happy with my choice. They are the reason I reread the series as often as I do.
My favourite book couple is Penryn and Raffe from the Penryn and the End of Days trilogy by Susan E. E.

Day 5 -Favourite book cover
I was just going to choose 1 cover for this but I thought, to keep the post a little longer, that I would choose 3. How are you just supposed to pick one? But I will point out which is my favourite of the 3 just to stay to the prompt.
I love to appreciate a pretty book cover.

So life has been all over the place with work and getting our flat ready for the arrival of our little baby in May (it’s so close, just 8 weeks now). We are currently staying in a one bedroom flat at the moment which meant that we had a lot of space to make for baby things. I have three bookcases at the moment and part of the compromise was that I had to reduce the amount of space that I was taking up with books (I love my books more than most things, but the baby is obviously more important!) So this meant that I had to condense down my bookcases and put some books away in the cupboard for now.
I thought that I would do a post on my bookcases before this happened because they won’t be looking too great by the end of this!
So, my first ever bookshelf tour! Continue reading “Bookshelf Tour”
2018 is officially coming to a close and 2019 is about to begin. What a year it has been.
I don’t know about you guys but it’s been a pretty life-changing year for me. I got engaged in spring, found out I was pregnant in summer, lost my grandad in the fall and my lovely old pussycat got put to sleep in winter. It’s been an emotional year with both happy and sad circumstances falling on my family and I but here we are at the end of another year.
I thought I would do a bit of a wrap up of my Top 10 Books for 2018. It’s not something I’ve done before but I thought it would be nice to revisit all the great books I’ve read in the past year. This isn’t limited only to books that have come out in 2018. Continue reading “Top 10 Books for 2018”
So you might be aware that I recently changed job from the fast paced and should destroying world of the catering industry for a more chilled desk job in a dentist. It’s a pretty good life but we aren’t going to go into that. There is a point behind me mentioning this actually. The way my previous jobs bonus scheme worked was as a point system, your store was awarded points based on performance and you could then go on to spend the points on cool stuff. I was saving my points and when it came to me leaving the company I decided I should use my points instead of losing them.
Naturally, I loaded them all into a National Book Token card to spend in a bookshop.
It did not disappoint.
