Day 30 – A Book That Was Banned at Some Point

For this prompt I’ve actually picked three books and they are all children’s books.

I can’t actually believe these books were banned at any point but apparently we live in a very cautious and suspicious world.

Three books that were banned at some point are The Lorax by Dr. Suess, Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak and James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl.

Summer Blog Challenge – Day 18

Day 18 – The First Novel You Remember Reading

I’ve always been an avid reader since I was really young. I had books full of short stories, and picture books full of animals, and I loved The Gruffalo and Where the Wild Things Are. I’ve always been surrounded by books and that made me me. Trying to remember the first novel that I read is a little harder but I think I figured it out.

The first novel I ever read (and finished) was The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips by Michael Morpurgo

Summer Blog Challenge – Day 12

Day 12 – A Book That Made You Happy

I’ve read hundreds of books I’ve enjoyed. They’ve made me feel a whole range of emotions but I wouldn’t say that they all made me happy per se. How many books have you finished and felt happy at the end without being overwhelmed by a well of other emotions? Pick out one that overall left you feeling happy. It’s tough.

But I found one. A Book that made me happy was Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.

Summer Blog Challenge – Day 8

Day 8 – A book that everyone loved but you hated

This one is probably going to get me some backlash. I always get such strange looks when I tell people how much I dislike this particular series considering the hype and fan base that surrounds it. As a reader of fantasy and fiction, it is just expected that I’d love the series. It’s so very rare that you find someone that shares the same feelings as I do.

Incredibly rare.

So without further preamble, the book(s) that everyone loved but I hated is the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling.
