Summer Blog Challenge – Day 9

Day 9 – A book everyone hated but you loved

I’m not really sure about this one. I feel like there aren’t many books that I enjoyed that most others hated. It’s more a case that the books that I read might not have been very well known to begin with and so it is hard to find someone that has read them, let alone love them. So I don’t feel like those books count at all in this prompt.

There is only one that is really coming to mind.

A book that everyone hated that I loved would have to be An Abundance of Katherines by John Green.

Summer Blog Challenge – Day 6

Day 6 – Favourite contemporary read

There were a few titles that came to mind for this prompt but they were mostly overhyped for their time (and really, we’re they my favourite?). Titles like The Fault in our Stars, Looking for Alaska (I’m just listing John Green novels now), The Handmaiden tale and Perks of being a Wallflower. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed all of these titles and most in the contemporary section. But they weren’t my favourite.

My favourite contemporary read(s) would be Anna and the French Kiss series by Stephanie Perkins.

Day 14 – What Tattoos You Have & If They Have Meaning

I think tattoos and piercings are a great way to express yourself. More so tattoos, but the principle still stands. It’s a way to express yourself without going out of your way to affect others around you, it subtly tells something about who you are and what you love. I feel like they both get such a bad rap but I’m a firm believer of each person to their own so you want to write it on your skin then you do you.

30 Day Writing Challenge – Day 12

My first writing challenge and I’ve ruined it. I’ve been working the early shift at work and by the time I’m finished I’ve just been so tired and so emotionally done that all I’m doing when I get home is sleep. I managed to wash the car yesterday which is something, at least. So now I’m three days behind. I’ll catch up, I promise.

Day 11 – What You Wore Today

Hey guys,

So today was a rare day off work that I didn’t have anything planned. I was thinking of doing so many things but in the end I decided to go and see my younger brother and his girlfriend who live up in Inverness. It was a beautiful day, perfect for a trip to a beautiful part of the Scottish Highlands. My fiancĂ© was working so I headed off myself for what was rocking up to be a relaxing day out.

Day 10 – Put Your Music on Shuffle and Write the First 10 Songs

Anyone that knows me knows that as well as my books, my great love is singing. I don’t think I’m good at it but I love singing out loudly (the louder, the better it comes out). Long drives are the best because it very quickly turns into a live show featuring yours truly. for this prompt, I just stuck my Spotify on shuffle and this is the result. I’m quite happy with the little playlist it created. Maybe it will be turned into a new CD for my car. Continue reading “30 Day Writing Challenge – Day 10”
