Day 17 – Favourite Non-Human Character
I was unsure how to interpret this prompt. Did include human-like characters or did I go for beasts and creatures.
Then I thought screw it and decided to go for both.
My favourite non-human character is the Bone Carver from A Court of Thorns of Roses.

Day 16 – Celebrate Paperbacks
Another day to celebrate books but today let’s celebrate paperback books! I love and much prefer a paperback book to any other although it’s so much harder to read without damaging them.
The books I’ve chosen are my favourite because of their colouring mostly and how lovely they all work together as part of a series.
(This post almost didn’t happen today because our little girl got her first set of vaccinations today and she’s poorly and just wants cuddles. But I’ve managed to grab 30 minutes to myself because I’m determined not to fail this challenge!)
So let’s celebrate paperbacks!

Day 15 – A Book That Was Published Before You Were Born
Well there were a lot of books published before I was born in 1997 but I get this idea. I’m going to pick a book I actually enjoyed form before I was born and that just happens to be one of the great classics of the twentieth century.
A book that was published before I was born is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald first published in 1925.

I love when authors reach out to help others. In fact, I love when anyone takes the time to reach out a hand to help others. It doesn’t take much to show a simple act of kindness to someone and that is something that a lot of people seem to forget.
But Neil Gaiman and Sara J. Benincasa haven’t.

Day 14 – Celebrate Hardbacks
Let’s celebrate the beauty of hardbacks because we all love beautiful books.
I just picked a few of my favourite hardback books that I own because I own a lot, not all of them as nice. I also haven’t included Pans Labyrinth in this because I’ve mentioned a few times in other posts but just know that it’s up there with the beautiful hardbacks.
So let’s celebrate hardback books!

Day 13 – A Book That Made You Sad
I love a sad book, especially the kind that has you sobbing uncontrollably while you read through your tears. I’ve read a few good ones like that.
If I had to just choose one, I would choose Me Before You by Jojo Moyes for the book that made me sad.

Before we start I would like to point out that I did not know what a harem was until I started writing this post. I had to Google it and I’ve decided that it’s not my favourite word and it does not change my opinion of this book.
So I saw a post in a group I’m in on Facebook asking for Alice in Wonderland retellings and, given how much I usually enjoy retellings, I jumped in for the most highly recommended one without thinking of what I was getting into. Oh. Dear. God.
Alison’s Adventures in Underland by C.M. Stunich was that book and I thought that I was in for a dark retelling of the story I know and love and I suppose in a way I was right. But in so many ways I was wrong. This book is not suitable for young readers and it is most definitely NSFW.
